About the Department
B.Sc., Textile and Fashion Designing program was started in the year of 2020 to develop qualified,
skilled and competent graduates to take up the challenges of the industry. Curriculum is drawn with thought –provoking concepts in the field of Apparel Fashion designing,
Manufacturing, Merchandising and Quality Assurance and the department enjoys sophisticated lab specialties like CAD Lab, Textile Testing Lab, Textile Processing Lab,
Garment Construction Lab, Fashion Sketching and Illustration Lab, Pattern Making Lab and Draping Lab.

To create globally-competitive and socially responsible graduates for the Textile and Garment Industry through a strong emphasis on integrated education, innovative hands on training, upgraded skills and Industrial Linkages.

- To enlighten the students about the latest technology in Apparel and Textile Industries through value-based education, innovative practices and multi-disciplinary approach.
- To develop the entrepreneurial skills among the students for entrepreneurial ventures by providing infra-structure, human resource and consultancy.
Eligibility
A candidate who has passed in Higher Secondary Examination (Academic stream or Vocational stream) under Higher Secondary Board of Examination, Tamilnadu as per norms set by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto are permitted to appear and qualify for the Bachelor of Science in Textile and Fashion Designing degree examination of this university after a course of study of three academic years.
Duration
The course for the degree of Bachelor Of Science Textile and Fashion designing shall extend over a period of three academic years – 6 Semesters and each semester normally consisting of 90 working days or 450 Hours.

To develop the knowledge in embroidery and accessories making according to latest trend.
SBEC-II Port folio presentation
To understand fashion forecasting in terms of design details, fabric accessories and to learn preparation of mood board hue board and fabric swatches.
SBEC-III BEATUY CARE
To Gain knowledge on beauty care. To Develop and Understand about various kinds of Make ups and Hair styles.
MESSAGE BY HOD
I, being a Head of the Textile and Fashion Design Department, take a privilege to welcome you in the world of creativity in the form of Fashion Design. We offer a three-year degree in the field namely B.sc., Textile and fashion designing. The courses offered by the Textile and Fashion Designing Department will equip the designers with holistic knowledge and equated perspective of designing. The ultimate aim of the courses is to create a responsible designer who will serve the country and society through innovation, education, and research. Apart from the academic curriculum, the other activities organized by the Department let the students show their creativity in the form of art and designs. present, the Department of Textile and Fashion Design is conducting various types of competitions like Face Painting Competition, Handmade Jewellery, and others it’s provides skill development requisite to be a successful fashion designer along with entrepreneurial skills to set up their own venture. We also facilitate internships and give students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the fashion and garment industry.
